Questions: 31How do I share a document to WhatsApp?
1. Open a document, tap Share, choose a format, and on the share screen tap the WhatsApp icon to share.
2. Open a document, go to an image, tap Share, choose a format, and on the share screen tap the WhatsApp icon to share.
3. Select a document, tap Share, choose a format, and on the share screen tap the WhatsApp icon to share. WhatsApp supports document files up to 2 GB. If your document exceeds this limit, please use another sharing method, such as Email, Copy Link, or Save to Photos.
How do I share as a PDF?
After scanning or importing documents into CamScanner:
1. Single image: Open a document, go to the image, and tap Share > Share as PDF.
2. Multiple images: Open a document, press and hold to select images, then tap Share > Share as PDF.
3. Document: On the document screen, select a document, then tap More > Email > Share as PDF.
Note: Third-party apps limit the size of files and attachments they can receive. If the PDF is too large, it may fail to share, so try sending in smaller batches. To convert images not created in CamScanner into a PDF, import and save the images first, then follow the steps above.
How do I share as an image (JPG)?
To save scanned documents as JPG (PNG isn't supported): Open the app, go to the camera, and use Normal mode to scan and save images to CamScanner. Then:
1. Single image: Open a document, go to the image, tap Share > Share as Image, and choose an app to share to.
2. Multiple images: Open a document, press and hold to select images, tap Share > Share as Image, and choose an app to share to, or tap Save to Album to save them to your photo album.
3. Document: On the CamScanner home screen, press and hold to select a document, tap Share > Share as Image, and choose an app to share to, or tap Save to Album to save it to your photo album. Third-party apps generally limit the file size they can receive. If the selected images are too large, the generated file may be too big for a third-party app, which then won't appear on the share screen; in that case, share in smaller batches. To automatically save CamScanner-processed images to your photo album, go to Me > Scan Services > Auto Save to Album before scanning.
How do I save documents to my computer in bulk?
Once your documents have synced from the mobile app, sign in to www.camscanner.com in a browser on your computer, or open the desktop app, then select documents to download. Selecting multiple documents to download at once is a Premium feature and requires an upgrade. After downloading, if you didn't choose a specific path, you can find the files in your computer's Downloads folder. If you're downloading a very large number of documents or very large files at once, download in several smaller batches to avoid failures.
How do I send a document to my computer?
There are three ways:
1. Open a document, tap the Share icon, choose a format, then tap Send to Computer. On your computer, enter the URL shown and scan the code to sign in, then download the document.
2. If the document has synced, sign in to www.camscanner.com on your computer or open the desktop app, then download it. Premium members can select multiple documents to download at once.
3. On your phone, open a document, tap Share, choose a format (JPG or PDF), select WhatsApp, and use the file transfer feature.
Note: When sharing scanned documents as images through WhatsApp, image quality may be reduced due to WhatsApp's media compression. To preserve the original document quality, we recommend sharing the document as a PDF instead.
Can I save images to my iPhone's photo album?
Yes.
1. Single image: Open a document, tap to open an image, then tap More > Save to Album.
2. Document: On the CamScanner home screen, select a document, then tap More > Save to Album. Alternatively, open the Me page, tap Document Scan, and turn on Auto Save Scans to Album; images you scan afterward will be saved to your system photo album once processed. Or turn on Auto Save Original Photos to Album, and the originals of images you scan afterward will be saved to your system photo album. To stop saving to your album later, follow the same steps to turn off auto-save in Document Scan.
How do I send a document by email?
To send by email:
1. Single image: Open a document, tap an image to open its detail page, tap the Share icon in the top right, choose PDF or Image > Email, and send.
2. Multiple images: Open a document, select images, tap Share in the bottom left, choose PDF or Image > Email, and send.
3. Single document: Open a document, tap the Share icon in the top right, choose PDF or Image > Email, and send.
4. Multiple documents: On the CamScanner home screen, select documents, tap Share in the bottom left, choose PDF or Image > Email, and send.
Note: Email sending relies on the email app on your phone or tablet (CamScanner packages the document and hands it off to that app), so check your email app first. If the email sent successfully, it should be in your Sent folder. If not, it should be in your Outbox, so try sending it again. If it keeps failing, try removing and re-adding the email account, as its authorization may have expired. Sending can also fail if the attachment exceeds your email provider's maximum attachment size or if your device is low on memory.
How do I save scanned documents to my device?
PDF: On the document screen, select a document, then tap Share > Share as PDF > Save to Device. Version 6.5.0 and above: File Manager > Download > CamScanner. Versions 6.3.0–6.
4. x: File Manager > Download. Versions below 6.3.0: File Manager > CamScanner. Image (JPG): Before scanning: Go to Me > Scan Services and turn on Auto Save to Album; images you scan afterward will be saved to your album once processed. After scanning: On the document screen, select a document and tap More > Save to Album, or open a document and share the images you want to your album.
Why does sharing create a link when I want to share a PDF?
If tapping Share takes you to the link-sharing screen, choose Share as PDF on that screen instead.
What is the document protection password (access code)?
CamScanner now automatically encrypts shared links and sends the password to the recipient along with the link. Check the link you received and enter the password to unlock it. Passwords have an expiration date, so access the link within the period shown. After it expires, both the link and password become invalid, and you'll need to share the document again to keep viewing it.
How do I reduce a PDF's file size?
Open the document in CamScanner and tap Edit PDF > Reduce File Size. Alternatively, open the document and tap Share > Share as PDF at the bottom; once the document exceeds 5 MB, a reduce-size button appears for you to tap. In-app size reduction is an estimate, so the actual PDF size may vary slightly from the estimate. This is normal. Email and third-party apps generally limit the file size they can receive, so share in smaller batches. To save to your computer, first sync from the mobile app, then visit www.camscanner.com on your computer, sign in with the same CamScanner account you use on mobile, tap the three-dot icon next to a document, and tap Download to save it locally. Premium members can select multiple documents to download at once.
How do I send files by email?
To send by email:
1. Single image: Open a document, tap an image to open its detail page, tap Share, choose Image or PDF, then choose email on the share screen.
2. Multiple images: Open a document, select images, tap Share, choose Image or PDF, then choose email on the share screen.
3. Single document: Open a document, tap Share, choose Image or PDF, then choose email on the share screen.
4. Multiple documents: On the CamScanner home screen, select documents, tap Share, choose Image or PDF, then choose email on the share screen.
Notes:
1. Sending can fail if the attachment exceeds your email provider's maximum attachment size or if your device is low on memory.
2. If it shows as sent on your end but the recipient says they never received it, ask them to check their Spam or Trash folders.
3. If the email sends but has no attachment: for Gmail or Outlook, first sign in to the mail provider's website on a computer and set up an app-specific password, then re-add the account in the mobile app.
4. If you use another email client, try switching to a different one.
Can't share to WhatsApp (an error message appears)
This is related to your iPhone's memory (RAM; most iPhones have only 2–4 GB) and your WhatsApp sign-in status. Please check that:
1. Your phone has enough free memory.
2. WhatsApp isn't logged in on another device, which can make the sign-in status on this device unstable. Low memory or a WhatsApp sign-in on another phone can both trigger this error. This is a mechanism built into WhatsApp, and CamScanner can't do anything further about it. We recommend restarting your phone, signing in to WhatsApp again, or sharing another way.
How do I upload documents to Google Drive, Box, OneDrive, or Evernote?
1. Go to the Me page > Settings > More Settings, tap Export Documents, tap Upload Accounts, and sign in to the cloud account you want to upload to.
2. Open a document, tap More (the three-dot icon) in the bottom right, tap Upload, and select the account to upload to. Auto-upload: If your account is Premium, go to the Export Documents screen, tap Auto Upload, sign in to the cloud account, and choose the document format to upload automatically. Documents you scan afterward will be uploaded to that cloud service in the chosen format. Auto-upload currently doesn't run in the background, so closing the app mid-upload stops it. Also, editing a document's format or content in the app uploads a new copy rather than overwriting the existing one.
How do I automatically upload documents to a third-party cloud service?
Premium members can automatically upload documents to Baidu Netdisk:
1. Open CamScanner and tap the Me icon at the bottom > More Settings.
2. Go to Export Documents > Auto Upload.
3. Choose the upload format (PDF or JPG).
4. Tap the Baidu Netdisk icon and sign in to authorize. Auto-upload currently doesn't run in the background, so it pauses whenever CamScanner is suspended or closed. Don't switch away from or close the app while it's running. When it's done, you can confirm the files under My App Data in Baidu Netdisk.
How do I send a fax?
CamScanner can send faxes to more than 20 countries and regions worldwide.
1. Open CamScanner.
2. Open the document you want to send and tap Share in the top right.
3. Share it as a PDF.
4. Tap Upload/Print/Fax > Fax.
5. Select the recipient's country and enter the fax number (no country code needed). For example, to send to the Beijing fax number 010-88888888, select China and enter 1088888888, dropping the leading 0 of the area code.
Note: Our fax provider is based in the U.S. and uses VoIP to send electronic faxes rather than a traditional landline fax connection. This service is highly secure but places higher demands on the recipient's fax machine. If the recipient uses an older all-in-one phone-fax dialer, it may pick up a weak signal, fail to receive the electronic fax, or refuse to print faxes from a non-landline number.
How do I print?
Open a single document and tap More > Print Document to connect to a CamScanner printer. Or open a single document and tap More > AirPrint to print with a standard wireless printer (connect your phone and the printer to the same Wi-Fi network). If you're not sure whether your printer supports wireless printing, check with your company's IT team or the printer manufacturer's support. If your printer doesn't support wireless printing, open the desktop app on your computer, tap the ... icon next to a document, and choose Download, or visit www.camscanner.com in a browser, download the document, and then print it. (Downloading multiple documents at once requires a Premium upgrade.)
Can I turn each page of a document into a separate PDF?
For documents with multiple pages (2 or more), save the document, open it, then tap Share > Export Each Page as PDF.
Why isn't my email being received?
Email sending relies on the email app on your phone or tablet (CamScanner just packages the document and hands it off to that app), so check your email app first. If the email sent successfully, it should be in your Sent folder. If not, it should be in your Outbox, so try sending it again. If it keeps failing, try removing and re-adding the email account, as its authorization may have expired.
How do I share a long image?
Multiple images: Open a document, select images, then tap Share > Share as Long Image. Multiple documents: On the document screen, select multiple documents, then tap Share > Share as Long Image.
How long does a shared document stay available?
1. If you choose Share as PDF or Share as Image and the recipient saves it locally, they can view it anytime, unless they manually delete it or wipe their phone or computer.
2. If you share a link and the recipient hasn't tapped it to download and save the file locally, they won't be able to view it after the link expires, and you'll need to share it again. If they've already downloaded and saved it locally, they can view it anytime, unless they manually delete it or wipe their phone or computer.
How do I download a folder?
After creating a folder in the mobile app and letting it sync, sign in to www.camscanner.com on your computer or open the desktop app, then select the folder to download.
Notes:
1. Downloading folders is a Premium feature and requires an upgrade.
2. If you're downloading a large number of folders, do it in smaller batches.
Can I share a folder?
Sharing a folder directly isn't supported yet. Thanks for your understanding. To share its contents, open the folder, select documents, and share those. Since third-party apps limit the file size they can receive, share in smaller batches or share a link instead. To transfer to a computer, sync from the mobile app first, then sign in to www.camscanner.com on your computer, click the icon next to a folder, and choose Download. This is a Premium feature and requires an upgrade.
How do I print an image or document?
CamScanner doesn't have a built-in printing feature and can't print directly. If you've purchased a CamScanner printer, open a document, tap the three-dot icon in the top right, then tap Print Document > CamScanner Printer. For standard printing, if your printer has a mobile app and supports network connections, connect the printer and your phone to the same network, then open a document, tap the three-dot icon in the top right, tap Print Document > Other Printers, and connect to the printer. Alternatively, sync your scanned documents to the cloud, then sign in to www.camscanner.com on your computer, select documents to download locally, and print them from there.
Note: If a document shared or downloaded from CamScanner displays fine but has issues after printing, check your printer settings first, and try a different printer.
How do I share to WhatsApp?

Document: On the CamScanner home screen, press and hold to select a document, tap More > Upload, and sign in to your Baidu Netdisk account. Auto-upload is a Premium feature. Tap Premium to upgrade. After upgrading, before uploading, go to Me > Export Documents > Auto Upload, select Baidu Netdisk, and sign in to your account. Auto-upload currently doesn't run in the background, so it stops if you switch apps or close CamScanner. If you re-edit an uploaded document or change its upload format in CamScanner, a new copy is uploaded rather than overwriting the original. You can confirm successfully uploaded documents under /My App Data/CamScanner in Baidu Netdisk.
Why does a document look blurry after sharing?
If a document looks sharp in CamScanner but blurry after sharing, the receiving third-party app may have re-processed the file. Try sharing again via a link or by email. To share to a computer, sign in to www.camscanner.com on your computer and click the download icon next to a document to download the file. (Premium members can download in bulk.)
